After the regular dose of coffee and NPR, the morning is spent peacefully enough, reading final student essays on King Lear, A Passage to India, and Othello. Some are very good, but grades being due by 5:00 p. m, you read quickly, zero in for the grade, and offer just one comment. Still to be decided is what to do about the paper you know to be plagiarized, but will take arguing through three boards, to convict.
